AI search lets you find a home to rent by describing it in your own words. Instead of setting each filter by hand, you type a sentence in the search bar on any RentHero page and RentHero turns it into a search. You do not need an account to use it.
How to use AI search
- Click the search bar at the top of any RentHero page. When AI search is active, you will see a short note inviting you to describe what you are looking for.
- Type your description in plain language, for example “2 bedroom flat, at least 60 m², in London”.
- Press Enter or click Search. RentHero shows matching homes, with your criteria already applied as filters.
- Adjust the filters or rewrite your description if you want to widen or narrow the results.
What can you include in your description?
AI search works best when your description contains the details that matter most to you. You can mention:
- Location: a city, area or neighbourhood, such as “in Manchester” or “near Leeds city centre”
- Budget: a maximum rent, such as “under £1,200 a month”
- Size: the number of bedrooms or a minimum floor area, such as “3 bedrooms” or “at least 60 m²”
- Property type: flat, house, room, studio or student accommodation
A few examples of descriptions that work well:
- “3 bedroom house under £1,200 in Southampton”
- “Studio flat in Birmingham, maximum £800”
- “Room in a shared house in Bristol”
- “2 bedroom flat, at least 60 m², in London”
Tips for better results
- Start with the essentials. Location, budget and size give the strongest results. You can always add more filters afterwards.
- Avoid very narrow descriptions. Many requirements at once can leave you with few or no matches. If that happens, remove one detail at a time.
- Use the classic filters together with AI search. Once the results appear, you can fine-tune them with the regular filters for price, size, rooms and more.
- Act quickly on a good match. Open the listing, check the details and photos, and contact the landlord to arrange a viewing before someone else does.
Save your search as an AI notification
If you like the results of your AI rental search, you do not need to repeat it every day.
